Turnabout/Stillwater Academy includes three vital components in its residential treatment program for troubled teenagers which results in an enduring change in their behavior and issues. First, it is the involvement of the family in the teen’s treatment, then it is the assurance of the teenager’s return to a secure and stable home environment, and lastly, it is the aftercare support given to the families and their teens.
Presently, Turnabout is working in partnership with Homeward Bound, an aftercare prominent leader, in order to ensure that the teenagers who enter their program will receive comprehensive aftercare services that can help with their lasting triumph.
 Founder and CEO of Homeward Bound, Dr. Tim Thayne said "Through our combined efforts, Turnabout's graduating students and families will be more prepared for the real-world and will have higher levels of success than ever before. For each family which enters the Turnabout Academy, they will receive a Turnabout therapist as well as a Homeward Bound transition specialist. Both the therapist and transition specialist will work as a team in order to get the teenagers and their families ready for home. The transition specialist teaches the parents about the process of transition by helping them form a transition plan while giving them vital support even after their teen has graduated from the program. Homeward Bound’s internet program known as the Family Bridge will also be utilized by the families as a source of communication for the family, the support team, transition specialist, and the assigned Turnabout therapist.
The program director at Turnabout, Scott Jones, said "Turnabout has always approached treatment with this end in mind---we want families to be successful after the program. Homeward Bound gives us more tools and experts to do just that, and I believe other treatment programs and professionals will look to our joint model as an example of what is possible in the field."
Turnabout/Stillwater Academy is a private school and licensed adolescent treatment program which has been helping teenagers and their families for more than 20 years in Salt Lake City, Utah. The program is known for its family-centered approach of treatment for a range of adolescent issues.
